Class of 2023

Why did you choose Central?

I chose Central because of all the connections I thought I could make on the soccer team, within the college, and within Pella’s community. I was fairly certain I’d be successful wherever I went, but it would be the relationships I developed during college that would define my experience and help propel my future.

Favorite professor and why?

I would have to say Goodman for math and Liz for physics/engineering. Goodman never fails to challenge me, but has great questions to help lead you in the right direction. Plus it helps that whenever I need to miss class, he misses class too. After taking classes with Liz and doing research with her, Liz can explain some really complicated stuff in a way that is much easier to understand.

You’re majoring in Engineering and Mathematics because?

I wanted to do engineering because I like solving problems and helping people before they even realize there is a problem. Apparently one major wasn’t enough of a challenge so I added another one.

Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?

Outside of soccer, I am part of Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and I work as a tutor on campus.

Who are your go-to musical artists?

Honestly, I very rarely listen to music when I’m by myself so I usually listen to whatever people are playing around me so it would have to be anything musical theatre, since that’s what my brother had me listen to for all of my childhood, or Mr. Worldwide, which is on basically whenever the soccer team has aux.

How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?

Playing a sport at Central really helped me find a group of friends quickly at Central which gave me the confidence to try new things which lead to a lot of amazing opportunities including the internship I had this summer at Vermeer.

What was your dream job as a kid?

My dream job as a kid was to be a professional ice skater.

What is your go-to movie theater candy?

Probably nerd clusters or Dibs.

Teammate who you would pick to go on the Bachelorette?

Sarah Piazza because she’s outgoing and would have conversations with everyone.

The thing about living in Colorado you’ve missed the most?

Probably the mountains because they’re beautiful, have a bunch of activities associated with them, and they made it easy to tell which way was west which is really helpful as someone who is directionally challenged. Now, I know that whenever I’m on campus, the soccer fields are always west.

Favorite TV Show

My favorite TV show is Criminal Minds.

What’s it like to play for Coach Kobylinski?

Koby is so passionate about the game and improving the program, both in competitiveness and environment. He’s great about looking beyond what happens on the field and caring about how we develop as players and people.

What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central Women’s Soccer?

My favorite part about being a part of this team is the atmosphere during pregame rituals, team dinners, and on the sideline.

What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?

I hope to have a good job with a family and be coaching soccer at some level.

Favorite food from Central Market

I love popcorn chicken sundae bar or just generally when they have popcorn chicken that I can add to a salad.

Bucket list
  1. Hike up to Machu Picchu
  2. Backpack across Europe
  3. Go bungee jumping.
