Class of 2023

Why did you choose Central?

I chose Central because it gave me the opportunity to get a fantastic education as well as continue to play football. Once I took my visit and got on campus I was reassured that I made the right choice because it had a strong family feel to it and I felt welcomed and cared for by all.

Favorite professor and why?

Being an education major I mostly have education professors and every single one of them does an amazing job. I can’t say I have a favorite education professor because they are all my favorite, so I am going to move outside of the education department. Outside of the ed department, I would say my favorite professor was Chia Ning. She was a lot of fun and made class extremely enjoyable. I looked forward to her class because she showed so much joy and care in her teaching.

You’re majoring in elementary education because?

When I was younger I had several very impactful male teachers growing up and I want to make that same impact on students. I also enjoy working with and watching younger students grow in their learning as well as who they are as a person.

Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?

Besides football I am involved in the CTA (Central Teaching Academy)

Who are your go-to musical artists?

I would say it depends on the time and place. I am not much of a music guy, but I enjoy all country music and find myself listening to that if I do. Besides that I really enjoy listening to Mötley Crüe.

How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?

I have enjoyed my time here at Central and football has been a big part of that. I have learned a lot through my time playing football at Central, a lot about the game but also a lot about life. I have also made some of my best friends through the football team that I will carry with me throughout my life.

What is the best thing to eat for breakfast?

The eggs no doubt. The eggs at CUIFS are by far the best thing to eat no matter what day it is. I wake up happy in the morning knowing I get to eat CUIFS eggs.

What was the last gift you gave someone?

Probably a gift card to somewhere.

What’s your favorite book you’ve ever read?

Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins

If you received a salary to follow whatever passion you wanted to, what would you do?

To work on a big ranch in Wyoming.

Favorite TV Show

Chicago Fire and Yellowstone

What’s it like to play for Coach McMartin?

Playing for Coach Mac is awesome. He truly wants what's best for his players and strives to help them and push them to reach their goals. He is funny but also knows how to motivate you and when to be serious. It is a joy to play for Coach Mac

What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central football?

Friday night activities with the team before games and watching Shooter.

What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?

I hope I am enjoying life to the fullest with whatever job I have and with my family.

Scrambled eggs for breakfast with a little buffalo sauce, and a couple glasses of half chocolate milk and half  whole milk.
