Why Central?
I first got interested in Central because of the softball program, and I decided it was the place for me after meeting with the coaches and team. I was also intrigued by the fact that all my professors would know me by name and be able to help me whenever I would need it. Finally, the town of Pella is much like my hometown, so it was a new but familiar place all at the same time.
Favorite professor and why?
I’d have to choose Oscar because I traveled to Mexico with him for a mini study abroad experience and he made it a once in a lifetime trip for me and the other students that went.
In your iPod?
Lots of country music with some pregame jams (NOT including Juicy Wiggle)
You’re majoring in actuarial science because?
Actuarial Science because for some reason I’ve always enjoyed math classes my whole life…don’t ask me why.
What do you miss most about being a kid
NAPS and having PE as an actual class
Favorite quote and why you like it
“Keep smilin’, it looks good on you”….my grandpa told me this when I was a little girl so I simply use it as a daily reminder.
If you could choose your own personal theme song, what would it be?
“Centerfield” because the majority of my life has been spent at a ballpark
What’s the most impressive Netflix binge you’ve ever gone on?
My roommate and I (Lauren Bagby) impressively finished Shameless in a month or less
Chore you absolutely hate doing
It’s not really a chore, but if any of my friends were answering this question they’d right away say cleaning out my hairbrush. Hairballs gross me out so my friends are always the ones cleaning out my hairbrush for me.
Teammate who would make the best U.S. President and why?
Sydney Rudd because she would fill the White House with pugs or Katherine Hemesath because the country could use her sense of humor

Why do you love Central softball?
This is a hard question to answer because it’s hard to put words to what you experience being apart of Central Softball, but I will try my best. I love Central Softball because it’s the most challenging yet comforting thing I have ever been a part of. I’m challenged both physically and mentally everyday with things related to softball but also things that have nothing to do with softball. It’s a program that builds competitors to be the best but it also teaches virtues that set us up for success beyond college. The comfort part comes from my teammates, both current and past, and my coaches. I’ve gained a forever family. I have 30+ people who support me in whatever life throws my way whether it is on or off the softball field. We are all working towards a common goal and are all driven by the same desire and passion. This program is filled with a whole lot of heart and tradition and I’m extremely blessed to be a part of it.

Hopefully I will be an actuary for an insurance company, maybe coaching softball, happily married, with a kid or two!
