Why did you choose Central?

I chose Central simply because of the people that make campus come alive. Everybody here has a passion for whatever department they work in. Being a curious person myself I knew I would be able to thrive in the challenging environments of both the classroom and the course.

Favorite professor and why?

Dr. Karen Cleveland is my favorite professor her ability to weave in personal experiences into course material makes psychology even more engaging. We also have very similar personalities so I can always go to her for very honest, sometimes too honest, but caring advice. 

You’re majoring in Psychology because?

I chose psychology because I found out I wasn’t too fond of the whole chemistry and math thing that being a doctor requires you to do. But psychology allows me to explore my curiosities related to human nature and behavior while also getting the biological science perspective.

Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?

I love golf and practicing but I also work a lot for both the athletic and psychology departments. I’m in a small choir on campus and am a part of psych club. I also enjoy attending campus ministry events.

Who are your go-to musical artists?

I like a variety of artists but I always love listening to Coldplay, Lady Gaga, and Journey

What are your summer plans for 2020?

I have an internship with the Iowa Games this summer working to plan and operate the month-long event. I will also play a lot of golf, work on my piano skills and hopefully get a good tan.

Biggest pet peeves?

Things not being perfect, styrofoam, loud people/children, people who move at a glacial pace 

If every time you entered a room a theme song played, what would the song be?

I Want it That Way by the Backstreet Boys, that song will forever be my jam. I loved it when I was 9 and will love it when I’m 90. 

The best candy in the world is?

No debate- Easter egg-shaped Reeses

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

I love going to new places but my dream one day is to visit the fishing villages and snowy fjords in Norway.

What’s it like to play for Coach Wilkinson?

Coach Wilkinson allows for a lot of freedom and implements a very laid back environment while at practice and tournaments. He also does a good job of getting us to understand the personalities of our teammates so we can be there for each other. He is also very driven and loves working so he sets that precedent for our team.

What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central golf?

I love being able to share my passion for the game with my teammates. I have made some really good friends with people I wouldn’t normally interact with. It is also a lot of fun to be in a competitive environment not only with yourself but also with your teammates.

What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?

I better be done with school 10 years from now, I should be working at a University either doing research, teaching or implementing my work in athletics. I’ll also be coaching on the side and have a big dog to go on adventures with.
