Why did you chose Central?
I chose Central because it gave me a chance to keep playing the game I love while also getting a great education. I enjoy the smaller campus feel and how easy it is to build relationships with other students and professors.
Favorite professor and why?
My favorite professor is Dr. Linda Laine because she has had a real impact on me. She pushes me to do my best, but she is also understanding when it comes to balancing school and baseball. You can tell she wants to see her students succeed in the future.
You’re majoring in __________ because?
I’m majoring in Communication Studies because I enjoy working with people, building relationships, and it opens up a lot of opportunities, especially in fields like sales or marketing.
Â
Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?
I attend campus events when I can, but for the most part I stay focused on being a student-athlete and balancing school and baseball.
Â
Who are your go-to musical artists?
For country, I like Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs. For rap, Snoop Dogg is my go to. And then in the weight room with Coach Johnson it’s Rage Against the Machine all the way.
Â
How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?
It’s helped me become more disciplined and made me a better person all around. Being a student-athlete has also taught me how to handle pressure and work as part of a team and how to build relationships with teammates each year.
Â
What do you refuse to share?
Definitely my catcher's glove, too much time and work went into breaking it in. If you’ve ever played baseball, you understand.
What is your favorite thing to spend money on?
Baseball equipment for sure
Â
 Favorite professional sports team?
The Indianapolis Colts
Â
What’s the best baseball movie of all time?
Moneyball, without a doubt
Â
Favorite TV Show
The First 48
Â
What’s it like to play for Coach Carey?
Â
Playing for Coach Carey isn’t just about baseball but it’s about building us into men both on and off the field. He pushes us to work hard and hold ourselves accountable, and live by our team’s core values. He really cares about helping players grow, not just as athletes, but as people and that makes being part of the program something special. And every time I step onto the field, he is the guy I want to be playing for.
Â
What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central’s baseball team?
Definitely the brotherhood, having that many brothers and being together everyday is just the best feeling.
Â
What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?
In 10 years I hope to have built a career in sales or advertising while also having a family and creating a strong and supportive home. I also want to stay connected to baseball by either helping teach young athletes and passing on the lessons I’ve learned about hard work, teamwork, and discipline. It’s important to me to give back to the game that’s given me so much and built who I am today.
