Why did you chose Central?
I chose Central because I knew I wanted to go to America for college and to be able to experience the states. I ended up choosing Central because its kinesiology program seemed to be the best pathway for me to go to physical therapy school.
Favorite professor and why?
Dr. Shuger Fox because she is so involved in the student’s academics and really wants us to do well. Her classes have kept me engaged in my major and has inspired me to help others strive for a healthy lifestyle. She is always so quick to help me and is an amazing person to just talk to!
You’re majoring in kinseiology because?
I have always had a love for health sciences and anatomy. I love studying about movement within the human body and think it is really cool stuff to know! I knew I wanted to work in healthcare, so kinesiology seemed to be the best route for me.
Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?
I am involved in the Kinesiology Club, CAPIC, and Pre Health Club!
Who are your go-to musical artists?
I love SZA and Dominic Fike, but sometimes go back to my boy band roots and listen to One Direction.
How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?
Being at Central has shown me that I can create a tight family even being far from home. Playing a sport has taught me about the importance of working towards a goal greater than myself.
If you could play doubles with any professional player, who would you choose?
Rafael Nadal without a doubt.
How did you find Central?
I knew I wanted to go to the states while playing tennis and studying kinesiology. Since I hadn’t live in America since I was 3, I had absolutely no clue where to go. Since my dad is from Iowa, we decided to start there and found that Central had just about everything I was looking for. I never thought I would end up in a small town in Iowa but I’m grateful that Central has given me so many amazing experiences and opportunities!
Best food you’ve discovered since coming to the USA?
I found Chipotle my freshman year and have been obsessed ever since.
What was your favorite animal as a kid?
I loved alpacas growing up.
Favorite TV Show
Usually I am super into reality shows but lately my go to has been New Girl!
What’s it like to play for Coach Ferrell?
Coach Ferrell has been very supportive of me since we have met. He has instilled so much confidence in me over the past few years, and I feel grateful to have a coach who fully believes in my abilities.
What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central tennis?
My favorite part about being a part of tennis here is that it has given me lifelong friends who have became like sisters to me. I feel like Central tennis has given me a great support system and we would all do just about anything for each other.
What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?
I hope to be a pediatric physical therapist working with kids who have disabilities and have a golden retriever named Chanel.
