Why did you choose Central?
I chose Central because of the opportunity it gave me to keep playing baseball while getting a good education. I liked the fact that it was a small school where I would be able to connect with my professors and make good friends.
Favorite professor and why?
My favorite professor at Central is Stavros. I like Stavros because he is in my major of communications, so I am interested in what he teaches but he also always makes class interesting and interactive, you never get bored in his class.
You’re majoring in Communications because?
I want to pursue a career in broadcasting and production and a communications major is a good start to prepare me for the field.
Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?
I am not involved in anything else on campus besides baseball, I spend most of my free time outside of practice, games, and classes spending time with my teammates.
Who are your go-to musical artists?
I listen to a lot of different artists in a lot of different genres, but I would have to say my favorite artists of all time is the band, Queen.
How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?
It has helped me prepare for my career a lot. Learning the importance of time management to make sure I get all my schoolwork done and keep my grades up while attending practices and games is a challenge but has taught me a lot of responsibility.
How many different positions on the field have you played? How many in the same game?
I play four different positions Shortstop, Second Base, Third Base, and Left field. The most I’ve played in one game is two.
What does everyone get wrong about Utah?
A question I always get when people find out that I am from Utah is if I am a Mormon or a member of the LDS religion. I am not and I think that a lot of people think that if someone is from Utah they are automatically a Mormon.
What was your favorite animal as a kid?
My favorite animal as a kid was an eagle because I thought it would be cool to be able to fly.
Do different colors of skittles/starburst have distinct flavors?
Yes, they absolutely have different flavors.
Favorite TV Show
I am more of a movie person, but I would say my favorite TV show is That 70’s Show.
What’s it like to play for Coach Carey?
Playing for Coach Carey has been amazing, with him being so young it makes the dynamic on the team very fun. He is able to connect with and understand his players a lot easier than an older coach would be able to and it makes for a very good team culture. He has really made all of us buy into what he teaches, and I think the improvements the team has made on and off the field reflect that.
What’s your favorite part about being a member of the Central baseball team?
My favorite part of being on the baseball team is my teammates. When I came to a small school in Iowa from Utah, I didn’t know anyone and was scared that I would not be able to make good friends, but after 3 years I have met some of my best friends and made lifelong friends on the team.
What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?
10 years from now I hope to a play-by-play announcer for an MLB team or for a major network like Fox or ESPN.
Favorite food from Central Market
My favorite food from Central Market is the Chicken Jalapeno Popper Sandwiches.

Number one item on my bucket list is to see the northern lights.
