Class of 2026

Why did you choose Central?

I chose Central because I wanted to play softball for a competitive and successful program. I also felt like the smaller atmosphere here would benefit me a lot in terms of my education.

Favorite professor and why?

My favorite professor is Dr. Shuger Fox. She makes lectures more interesting because of the energy she brings to class. She also teaches the classes that I find most interesting, and I have had an opportunity to interact with her more as my academic advisor and through research.

You’re majoring in kinesiology because?

I’m majoring in kinesiology because I have always been interested in learning more about the human body and how it works. I like how kinesiology focuses on aspects like exercise and nutrition leading to a healthier life.

Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?

I have been involved with research with Dr. Shuger Fox, as well as working at the cafe on campus. Some of my classes have also led to involvement with other organizations within the community, such as the Dementia Friendly organization.

Who are your go-to musical artists?

I love country music. My favorite artists are probably Morgan Wallen, Hudson Westbrook, and Riley Green.

How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?

Central has brought me all of my closest friends, especially through softball, which I am forever grateful for. I think the biggest impact Central has had aside from these friendships would be carrying myself with confidence. Softball has taught me a lot about having high goals/expectations as well as being able to balance the ups and downs of life. There are many other things I’ve learned that I think will benefit me in the real world after college.

What’s something about being a slap hitter people don’t understand?

There are several different aspects to slap hitting, it’s not just all soft infield hits. I may be biased but I also think there is a bit of a difference in our strike zone too.

Would you rather be famous singer or famous actor?

I would rather be a famous singer because it would be cool to work with other famous singers and I am more into music than movies/TV.

What’s the dumbest way you’ve been injured?

I dislocated my shoulder practicing diving into bases while indoors on the basketball court.

Choose your age forever, what would it be?

I am not there yet but I feel like 25 would be a good age because you are young and can travel the world while beginning other important parts of your life.

Favorite TV Show

I’m not a big TV person, but if I had to pick one, I would say Friends.

What’s it like to play for Coach Wares?

If I had to use one word, I would say challenging. He pushes us all to do more than what we think we are capable of. He also gets us to think outside of the box and be able to explain reasonings for everything. Coach Wares and the rest of the coaching staff have definitely helped me grow my knowledge of the sport and develop leadership qualities.

What’s your favorite part about being a member of the Central softball team?

My favorite part of Central softball has to be the connections with all of my teammates. We push each other to be better and have so much fun while doing it. I have countless memories with my teammates, and I don’t think my experience would have been the same without all of them.

What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?

I hope that in 10 years I have a family of my own and have a job in disease prevention research (or something along those lines). I also hope that I am able to travel a lot!

Favorite food from Central Market

Fruit pizza

Bucket list

The number one thing that I want to do is travel to Australia!
