Why did you chose Central?

I chose Central because of the unique opportunity to be able to study engineering and live out my lifelong dream of playing college basketball.

Favorite professor and why?

Honestly, in the engineering/physics courses you get to know your professors quite well because you take several courses with them throughout your academic career here. I enjoy all of them and have built good relationships with many of them. Professor Viktor Martisovits is one of my favorite professors. I really enjoyed his Advanced labs course. Professors Liz Golovatski and Kris Thompsen are also two professors I really have enjoyed taking classes with as well.

You’re majoring in Engineering and Physics because?

I have always loved math and science my whole life, and that’s basically what engineering is... lots of math and science. The physics double major was never planned, but I only had to take like two extra classes to get the double major. It’s kind of unique in the sense that my fellow engineering classmates and I all decided we would all grind it out together because it could be that one thing that makes us stick out compared to other job candidates in the real world one day.

Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?

I am involved with SAAC, SI leader, and have been a lab TA.

Who are your go-to musical artists?

Lee Brice, Thomas Rhett, and Queen Rock Band

How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?

Central has impacted my life in so many great ways. I feel like I am apart of two families here. The basketball team and the family culture that has been established under Coach Steinkamp these last couple years has been a joy to be a part of, as well as my fellow Engineering classmates. There are about 12 of us guys that have had almost every class together throughout our time here. We have taken some very difficult courses and we have all managed to get through it together, and I think that is something that makes Central experience so valuable. I know that long after my time here is done, I will still have friends from both the basketball team and the group of engineers that I will graduate with... hopefully.

Which teammate would you take with you to win The Amazing Race?

I think I would probably take Alier Agau. My only other fellow engineer on the team. He’s a bigger guy, good for the strength challenges. I’m a smaller guy good for the speed challenges. With our combined brilliancy, I think we could be dominant.

Favorite professional sports team?

18-time (soon to be 19) world leading NBA Champions: Boston Celtics.

Take us through your pre-game routine, what are the most important parts?

This is kind of a sad answer, but this year I’ve been dealing with a lot of hip/low back pain. So, I would say one thing I do before every game is STEM with our great athletic training staff, and then do some other exercises to help warm up and get ready for the game.

What is your number one pet peeve?

After this year, I love my roommate Jack Franey, but one thing I cannot stand about him is he is the loudest snorer ever. Everyone in my townhouse Peale knows how much I can't stand his snoring.

Favorite TV Show

Game of Thrones

What’s it like to play for Coach Steinkamp and Coach Riordan?

It’s a lot of fun. Showing up to practice and competing playing the game I love under them has been awesome. They have helped me develop as a player and as a person. The culture they have established is something I am so grateful to be a part of.

What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central Mens Basketball team?

It’s a family. I eat every meal with them. We hang out together and watch sports on TV. Go golfing. Lift and train in the offseason together. Go to church on Sundays. I don’t just know my teammates and who they are on the court, but also who they are off the court.

What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?

I hope to be working a job I love and having a family of my own.
