Why did you chose Central?
I chose Central for the Education program and the Central Teaching Academy. After visiting numerous other schools, I knew that Central was going to get me into the classroom more and give me more hands on experience. In my CTA classroom alone last semester I got 70 hours of classroom experience, which I wouldn’t get at any other school.
Favorite professor and why?
Melanie Hatch, because she is always down to earth in the classroom. She always makes her classes applicable and gives us information she learned in her experience in the classroom ,so that we can learn it before we are in the classroom.
Who are your go-to musical artists ?
It varies on my mood. Some go- to artists though are Reba, Jesse McCartney, Thomas Rhett, Post Malone, and Beach Tiger.
You’re majoring in elementary education because?
I'm majoring in elementary Education with endorsements in reading and special education, because I have always had a passion for helping kids. In high school I actually wanted to go into child advocacy law, but then decided I wanted to work with kids on a more daily basis and knew that teaching would be the best place for that.
What is one thing you miss about being a kid?
I miss having no real responsibilities.
What’s the best Halloween costume you’ve ever had?
I was a Hershey Kiss one year when I was little and have yet to have any cooler costumes.
What is the dumbest way you’ve been injured?
Sadly I have multiple answers for this one. I would have to say the dumbest was I tripped in the hallway of my house and injured my foot and then proceeded to not use the crutches I was told to and made it worse, so I had to spend 4 weeks in a full foot cast instead of the week or two on crutches.
Favorite season?
Summer. My favorite place is to be in water while the sun is shining.
Who do you admire the most?
The person I admire most is my mom. She has shown me that you can do anything you set your mind to.
If you could choose one hobby that may seem out of reach right now, what hobby would you take up and why?
Gardening. I started helping in the garden at home in the summer and it is very therapeutic.
Favorite TV Show
Criminal Minds or Law & Order SVU, I have seen every episode of both and rewatch them all the time.
What is it like to play for Coach Ferrell?
Playing for Coach Ferrell is rewarding. Coach Ferrell has not only taught me more about tennis, but his program has taught me that if you want something to never stop working for it and to always give everything you have on a daily basis even if you don’t see the results you want right away.
What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central tennis?
My favorite part of being a member of Central tennis is the how team feels like family. Through the tennis team I have been given friends that I know I can count on.
“Ten years from now I’ll...”
Ideally be married with a couple of the 5 kids I would like to have. In the career aspect, I want to be teaching in a special education classroom.
Favorite food from Central Market
Pasta Bar. Hands down. I love carbs.
Bucket list
-Travel in around the country in a VW van
-Backpack around other countries. We went to Mexico as a team in January and I would love to go back or go to Europe.
-Have a boat with a lake house
