PELLA—A trio of Central College men's basketball players were selected for the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court while the program received the Team Academic Excellence Award for the fifth year in a row.
           
The team award recognizes programs that complete the year with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The Dutch roster combined for a 3.14 GPA.
           
Bradley Curren (junior, Harlan), Alex Ruba (junior, Ames) and Patrick Weyrauch (junior, Glendale, Ariz., Sunrise Mountain HS) were named to the Honors Court, which recognizes juniors and seniors with cumulative GPAs of 3.20 or higher. All three Dutch players are business management majors Curren has a 3.69 GPA, Ruba as a 3.58 GPA and Weyrauch has a 3.80 GPA.
            
More than 2,300 players were named to the NABC Honors court with over 400 programs also recognized.

Central posted a 12-13 record and a 5-11 American Rivers mark.
