PELLA — Central hosted the Luther College Norse on Saturday in what would be their final game of the season. Unfortunately, the season didn't end on a high note for the Dutch, as they lost 74-61. While Central kept the game close in the first half, Luther was able to pull away in the final twenty minutes en route to a convincing win.
Owen Schipper (forward, sophomore, Waukee) led the way for the Dutch in both scoring (22) and rebounding (11). Both totals were game highs.
Kyle Cason (guard, freshman, Grimes, Dallas Center-Grimes HS) and
Anthony Gott (forward, sophomore, Davenport, North Scott HS) both made major contributions defensively with Cason recording a game-high three steals and Gott recording a game-high three blocks.
Unfortunately, this is the end of the road for Central's 2025-26 basketball season—one in which they finished with an overall record of 12-13 to go along with a conference record of 5-11. While it isn't the season the Dutch were hoping for, there is a lot of reason to believe that they will reload and come back stronger in next year's campaign.
