PELLA— The Central College men's basketball team had two players selected to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District list released Tuesday
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must play in 90% of a team's contests at the varsity level or start in 66% of the games while achieving a 3.50 or better cumulative grade point average (4.00 scale). Each institution can nominate a limited number of players per gender.
The players selected were
Bradley Curren (junior, Harlan) and
Alex Ruba (junior, Ames, Gilbert HS).
A two-time honoree, Curren has a 3.69 GPA as a business management major. He started in 18 of the team's 25 games, averaging 5.4 points per game with 50 assists. Ruba, a 3.58 GPA in business management, appeared in all 25 contests and averaged 5.0 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.
