PELLA— A familiar face in the American Rivers Conference is joining the Central College men's basketball coaching staff as Andrew Curran will be on the bench as an assistant coach this winter.
           
Curran will be Central's junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant coach.
           
A five-year letterwinner at Simpson College, he was a second team all-conference pick in 2021 and scored over 1,000 career points.
           
He's been on staff at NAIA Midland University (Neb.) for the last two seasons, serving as a junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant coach. The Vikings were 23-34 during his two seasons.
           
During his playing career at Simpson, he coached for the Iowa Suns AAU Basketball program.
