PELLA— Both the Central College's men's and women's tennis teams returned to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team award list announced Thursday
Additionally, 20 student-athletes collected ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition.
The women's squad posted a 3.59 combined team grade point average (4.0 scale) and posted a 10-12 overall record. The Dutch men tallied a 3.35 GPA and had a 9-13 mark. The men finished fourth in the American Rivers Conference and the women were fifth.
To receive the team distinction, a squad's combined GPA must be a 3.2 or above.
Nine men and 11 women were named ITA Scholar-Athletes. To qualify for the individual honor a student-athlete must achieve a 3.5 or higher GPA for the academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
Leading the way in the classroom with 4.0 GPAs were junior female Jennifer Larson (Johnston) and freshmen males Cashen Thompson (Pella) and Gavin Jablonski (Marshalltown).
