Central men lose twice in Minnesota tennis trip

Dutch drop a pair of matches

OWATONNA, MINN. — Venturing north to Minnesota for a pair of matches Saturday, the Central College men's tennis team lost to Carleton College (Minn.) 6-1 and Hamline University (Minn.) 5-2.
           
Gavin Jablonski (junior, Marshalltown) gave Central (1-8) its lone point against Carleton, taking the No. 4 singles match 7-5, 3-6, 10-6.
           
Against Hamline, Ernest Alvarez Chedzoy (junior, Kerrville, Texas, Tivy HS) rallied after losing the first set for a 4-6, 6-4, 10-3 victory in the No. 3 singles match. Francisco Centeno (freshman, Mexico City, Mexico, Centro Educativo Jean Piaget) won comfortably 6-2, 6-0 in the No. 5 singles match.
           
Central plays Augustana College (Ill.) next Saturday at noon in Iowa City.
