PELLA— Unable to match early goals by Grinnell College, the Central College men's soccer team lost 4-1 Wednesday afternoon.
           
Central (2-2-1) yielded a pair of goals to Grinnell (5-0-) in the first 16 minutes, forcing the Dutch to chase the game for an extended period of time.
           
The Pioneers added two more tallies in the 76th and 84th minute. Nate Lampe (junior, Newton) scored with nine seconds left to prevent a shutout.
           
Central's offense fired off nine shots but only put three on frame. The Dutch did earn seven corner kicks.
           
Central travels to Blackburn University (Ill.) for a 4 p.m. match Saturday in Carlinville, Illinois.
