PELLA— College Sports Communicator Division III Academic All-District men's and women's tennis teams were announced and six players from the Central College men's and women's programs were included.
           
Emma Murphy (junior, Liberty Mo.) and Lauren Gano (junior, Johnston) were repeat honorees from the women's team. Emily Blom (sophomore, Pella) was a first-time female honoree. Juniors Ernest Alvarez Chedzoy (junior, Kerrivlle, Texas, Tivy HS), Gavin Jablonski (junior, Marshalltown) and Alex Slaymaker (junior, Geneseo, Ill.) all made their debuts for the men's team.
           
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have played in 70% of matches with a team score and achieve a 3.50 or better cumulative grade point average. This is the third year for tennis as its own Academic All-District category after previously being part of the at-large category.
           
Alvarez Chedzoy has a 3.70 GPA as an accounting major. He went 11-13 singles, primarily in the No. 3 slot. He was also 9-17 in doubles with multiple playing partners 3.70
           
Jablonski has a 4.00 GPA as an engineering and physics major. He went 7-16 in singles, primarily in the No. 4 slot. He was 10-16 with multiple doubles partners.
           
Slaymaker has a 3.755 GPA as a mathematics and business management double major went 9-17 in singles, primarily in the No. 2 spot. He was 12-14 in doubles, predominantly as the No. 1 tandem.
           
Murphy has a 3.94 GPA as an elementary education major. She was 4-11 in singles, primarily in the No. 3 slot. She was 5-15 in doubles matches, mostly at No. 1.
           
Gano has a 3.74 GPA as a kinesiology major. She was 7-13 singles, primarily in the No. 2 slot. She was 6-15 in doubles, mostly at No. 1.
           
Blom has a 3.79 GPA as an elementary education major She was 12-6 in singles, primarily playing No. 4. She was also 10-10 in doubles matches, mostly at No. 3.
