PELLA — In its only dual of the fall season, the Central College men's tennis team lost 7-0 to Morningside University Saturday afternoon.
           
Playing in their non-traditional fall season, the Dutch men had played a pair of tournaments but this was the first head-to-head competition.
           
A trio of freshmen made their dual match debuts. Joseph Wright (Sergeant Bluff, Sergeant Bluff-Luton HS) played in the singles and doubles lineup. David Gonzalez (freshman, Tucson, Ariz., Sabino HS) played at No. 5 singles and Seth VandenBerg (freshman, Mason City, North Iowa Christian HS) played at No. 1 doubles.
           
Central will compete in the American Rivers Conference Individual Championships next Friday and Saturday in Waterloo.
