Pfantz finishes sixth in women’s golf finale

Central closes out first season for Coach Biggs

WAVERLY— Allie Pfantz (sophomore, State Center, West Marshall HS)  shot a career-low round at the Wartburg Spring Invitational Saturday, the final meet of the season for the Central College women's golf team.
           
Grinnell College won the team title 303-296—599. Lexi Manteufel of Carthage University (Wis.) was the medalist at 72-73—145. Central only had three players and did not have a team score.
           
Pfantz carded a career-low 73 on the par-72 Prairie Links Golf Course for her first round. She had a two-day total of 73-77—150.
           
Bella Keaveney (sophomore, Hubbard, South Hardin HS) finished 39 th after shooting career-low rounds on both days. She carded an 84 Saturday and then an 81 Sunday for a total of 84-81—165.
           
Mickey Martens (junior, Villa Park, Ill., Willowbrook HS) tied for 49 th, scoring 87-81—168.
           
Central coach Mackenzie Biggs is both excited about the weekend performance and also looking forward to next year
           
"The women finished their season out strong, with three personal-est rounds over the weekend for Allie and Bella," she said. "Micky also played consistent golf today. We're only getting more excited for the fall season with seven freshmen joining us."
