PELLA—The Central College women's golf team had three players recognized as All-American scholars by the Women's Golf Coaches Association, continuing a long tradition of academic prowess for the program.
           
Mickey Martens (junior, Villa Park, Ill., Willowbrook HS) was recognized for the third time while Allie Pfantz (sophomore, junior, State Center, West Marshall HS) was honored for the second time.   
           
For selection, honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and compete in 50% of the team's rounds. It's the 14th time in 15 years that at least one Central player was cited. Nationwide, 1,551 players at all levels of women's college golf were selected.
