WAVERLY— There were 21 teams and 126 golfers in action at the Wartburg College Fall Invitational over the weekend as the Central College women's golf team finished in 17th place Sunday.
The Dutch had a two-day total of 347-340—687 on the par-72 Prairie Links Golf Course in Waverly. The University of Dubuque won the team title with a 301-306—607.
Allie Pfantz (sophomore, State Center, West Marshall HS) led the Dutch again with a two-day total of 90-80—170, placing in a tie for 77th..
Bella Keaveney (sophomore, Hubbard, South Hardin HS) and
Mickey Martens (junior, Villa Park, Ill., Willowbrook HS) were both two strokes back in a tie for 86th. Keaveney shot 86-86—172 while Martens recorded an 88-84—172.
Chloe Sundet (sophomore, Urbandale, Waukee Northwest HS) had the team's low round Saturday but finished in a tie for 90th at 83-90—173. Freshman
Taylor Davis (Verona, Wis., Verona Area HS) made her debut in the varsity lineup soring 93-95—188 and taking 117th.
The Dutch will compete at the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic next Saturday and Sunday in Normal, Illinois.
