PELLA—The cherry was put on top of Central College's big soccer week as
Zoey Sizemore (junior, Omaha, Neb., Mercy Catholic High School) was named the American Rivers Conference Defensive Player of the Week in women's soccer.
Sizemore was a strong contributor to a 2-0 start to the season for Central, only allowing one goal over the course of both games. In the season opener, Sizemore shut out Edgewood University (Wis.) while recording seven saves, backing a 1-0 victory for the Dutch. Central followed this up with a 2-1 win over the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire in which Sizemore recorded five saves and only allowed one goal on thirteen shots faced.
The Dutch are on the road for their lone game next week on Wednesday, September 3, as they take on Hamline University (Minn.) in St. Paul, Minn.
