PELLA— The College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District soccer teams were announced Tuesday and the Central College women's soccer team had six athletes recognized.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must play in 90% of a team's contests at the varsity level or start in 66% of the games while achieving a 3.50 or better cumulative grade point average (4.00 scale). Each institution can nominate a limited number of players per gender.
The players selected were
Kylie Bloomstrom (sophomore, midfielder, Forest Lake, Minn,. Forest Lake Area HS),
Addison Brown (sophomore, defender, West Alton, Mo., Orchard Farm HS), Katy Brown (senior, defender, West Alton, Mo., Orchard Farm HS), Piper Eighmy (junior, forward, Birmingham Ala., Briarwood Christian HS), Bailey Huizenga (senior, defender, Colona, Ill., Geneseo HS), and
MiMi Pavelka (senior, midfielder, Shakopee, Minn., Holy Family HS).
A biology and business management double major with a 4.00 GPA, Eighmy led the Dutch with eight goals and was an American Rivers All-Conference pick. Huizenga has a 3.99 GPA and was an all-conference honorable mention, as was Bloomstrom with her 3.96 GPA as a kinesiology major.
Katy Brown is a business management and communication studies double major maintaining a 3.88 GPA.
Addison Brown is a biology major with a 3.92 GPA. The sisters started all 18 games in the back for Central. Pavelka, a kinesiology major with a 3.90 GPA started all 18 games in the midfield.
Eighmy and Huizenga advanced to consideration to the Academic All-America squad,
which will be announced on Wednesday, December 17.
