PELLA— Central College men's soccer defender Alejo Marcon (senior, Resistencia, Argentina, Pella Christian HS) and women's midfielder MiMi Pavelka (senior, Shakopee, Minn., Holy Family) were cited as College Player Award of Distinction recipients by the United Soccer Coaches for the 2025 season.
           
The award was established for member head coaches to submit deserving players based on one or more of the following criteria:

• Player has achieved quality performance on the field;
• Represented the highest ideals of team leadership;
• Exhibited quality character attributes including sportsmanship and respect for teammates, opponents, officials and the game;
• Made other significant contributions to the benefit of the program and the community.

Pavelka was four-time varsity letterwinner who earned American Rivers Academic All-Conference three times. She also was selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District squad three times. Marcon was the American Rivers Conference Defensive MVP in 2025, after being honorable mention in 2024. He's also a four-time varsity letterwinner and three academic all-conference.
