PELLA— The Central College's men's and women's tennis teams both returned to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team award list announced Wednesday while 27 student-athletes collected ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition.
The women's squad posted a 3.58 combined team grade point average (4.0 scale) and posted a 10-13 overall record. The Dutch men tallied a 3.56 GPA and had a 12-14 mark. The men finished third in the American Rivers Conference and the women were third.
To receive the team distinction, a squad's combined GPA must be a 3.2 or above.
Fifteen men and 12 women were named ITA Scholar-Athletes. To qualify for the individual honor a student-athlete must achieve a 3.5 or higher GPA for the academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
