PELLA — Four Central College volleyball players were announced as selections to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team Tuesday.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must play in 90% of a team's contests at the varsity level or start in 66% of the games while achieving a 3.50 or better cumulative grade point average (4.00 scale). Each institution can nominate a limited number of players.
Makayla Ribble (senior, setter, Iowa City) and
Kaitlyn Mumm (junior, middle hitter, Waukee, Des Moines Christian HS) are both repeat selections from 2024.
Leslie Snow (senior, outside hitter, Olivia, Minn., BOLD HS) was previously honored in 2023 and
Sophia Folkerts (junior, middle hitter, Dike, Dike-New Hartford HS) was picked for the first time. Mumm has advanced to the Academic All-America voting process. Those selections will be announced on Tuesday, January 13.
Mumm, a kinesiology major, maintains a 3.57 GPA. She was picked for the American Rivers All-Conference team for the second year in a row.
Ribble, an elementary education major, maintains a 3.75 GPA. Ribble had 557 set assists and 19 service aces.
Snow, an elementary education major, maintains a 3.83 GPA. She was a first team American Rivers All-Conference pick and had a team-high 362 kills.
Folkerts, a kinesiology major, maintains a 3.72 GPA. She had 167 kills and 15 blocks.
Central was 22-9 overall on the season with a 5-3 record in American Rivers Conference matches.
