GRINNELL — The Central College volleyball team recorded its second and third sweeps of the week against Grinnell College and Alverno College (Wis.) Saturday afternoon.
The Dutch (11-4) defeated the Pioneers (3-8) 25-21, 25-11, 25-15 and the Inferno (2-10) 25-14, 25-16, 25-9.
"Today was a good test for us to be disciplined," coach
Jeanne Czipri said. "We were a bit chaotic first set of the day, but cleaned things up on our side and took care of what we needed to."

ophia Folkerts (senior, Dike, Dike-New Hartford HS) had a team-high 15 kills against Grinnell.
Landry Pacha (senior, Wellman, Mid-Prairie HS) had 26 assists and
Cecilia Klein (freshman, West St. Paul, Minn., Cretin-Derham Hall HS) had three service aces.
Maelyn Wainwright (junior, West Liberty) assisted on four blocks and
Alexis Crowley (sophomore, Romeoville, Ill.) had nine digs.
Against Alverno,
Kinsey Drake (sophomore, Wilton) had a career-high 12 kills.
Grace Corey (sophomore, Watertown, S.D.) had 18 assists. Drake and Pacha each had five service aces. Pacha also led the team with 10 digs.
Ellie Wood (sophomore, Des Moines, Southeast Polk HS) was a part of four blocks.
Central travels to Fulton, Missouri next Friday for a match against Westminster College (Mo.) at 6 p.m. Then the Dutch will travel to St. Louis to face Washington University – St. Louis (Mo.) at noon on Sunday.
"Our next two matches will push us and hopefully prepare for us the American Rivers Conference," Czipri said.
