PELLA—For the second year in a row, Central College men's basketball center Josh Van Gorp (senior, Pella) has received preseason all-America honors from D3hoops.com.
           
The D3hoops.com preseason list included five teams and tabbed Van Gorp for the first team. Van Gorp, a 6-foot-10 post, was named a second team All-American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches and D3hoops.com last season. He is also a two-time American Rivers MVP.
           
Van Gorp averaged 23.4 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest last season. He started all 26 games for Central during the 17-9 season.
           
Van Gorp was the only conference player named to the preseason honor squad.
           
Central opens the 2024-25 campaign Nov. 15 against Saint John's University (Minn.) at home in P.H. Kuyper Gymnasium. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
