PELLA—Central College's men's basketball team has received the National Association of Basketball Coaches Team Academic Excellence Award.
Meanwhile, four Dutch players were tabbed for the NABC Honors Court.
The team award recognizes programs that complete the year with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Former coach Craig Douma's squad posted a combined 3.33 GPA.
Bradon Annegers (junior, Stronghurst, Ill., West Central HS),
Caden Mauck (5th-year, Kansas City, Mo., Blue Springs South HS), Nick McColgan (senior, Western Springs, Ill., Lyon Township HS) and
Sam Beatty (junior, Mount Pleasant) were named to the Honors Court, which recognizes juniors and seniors with cumulative GPAs of 3.20 or higher. Annegers, a biology major, has a 3.83 GPA. Mauck carried a 3.33 GPA with an exercise science major, McColgan graduated with a 3.26 GPA while majoring in exercise science and Beatty carries a 3.28 GPA with an environmental studies major.
