Eldridge, Iowa
Class of 2025

Why did you choose Central?

I chose Central because of the people and the culture. I really enjoyed the people I interacted with and talked to while visiting campus. I also loved the culture of the football team and their high standards whether it's in the classroom, the football field, or out in public.

Favorite professor and why?

My favorite professor would have to be Dr. Russ Benedict. I really enjoyed listening and talking to him outside of class because he is very easy to talk to and relate to. He was one of the first Environmental Studies professors I interacted with, and I took one of his classes Freshman year and loved the way he taught and interacted with his students.

You’re majoring in Environmental Science because?

I am majoring in Environmental Science because I want to be involved in a field of work where I am able to work with my hands and people every day outside of a corporate setting. I love working with and protecting our environment and our natural resources.

Who are your go-to musical artists?

I am a country music enthusiast. I like Riley Green, Chris Stapleton, Morgan Wallen, and Luke Combs. I also like to listen to rock artists like Nickleback and Shinedown.

How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?

I have gained countless things from playing sports in college. It's given me teammates and brothers over the past 4 years since I have been here. It has also given me some of my best friends for life after football is over. I will be forever grateful for the guys that I have met and became friends with and impacted my life over these 4 years here.

What’s the biggest misconception about offensive lineman?

I would say one of the biggest misconceptions about offensive lineman is that it's an easy job and anyone could do it. It takes someone special to want to do a job that’s thankless and that involves donating a significant portion of your body to get the ball to move four yards forward or to protect somebody else. Offensive lineman are the only players who never get to tackle or touch the football. They rarely get attention from fans or the media. And, they probably didn’t grow up with dreams about blocking for quarterbacks and running backs. Playing Offensive Line requires just as much mental as it does physical. You have to sort through a defense and then go out and block them for it to be a successful play.

What is the most important part of your pre-game routine?

The most important part of my pregame routine is hugging my family before I go and walk the field before warm ups. Another important part of my pregame routine is the Rhino prayer right before or after the National Anthem.

Would you rather visit the mountains or lake/ocean?

The Mountains. I have skied since the age of three and still love to ski. My family have been to several ski resorts out in Colorado. We also have a tradition of skiing on Christmas Day at Chestnut Mountain in Galena, Illinois.

Favorite TV Show

My favorite TV show would have to be either The Office or Friends.

What’s it like to play for Coach McMartin?

I am very grateful to have the opportunity to play for him. He cares about every player and is going to put everyone in a position to succeed. He understands the importance of going to class and being a student. He also wants all of us to grow into gentlemen once we leave the program.

What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central football?

It is my teammates and all the little unseen things that make it special. The time spent with your teammates outside of meetings and practice. I also like how we are all working toward the same goal and everyone has to do their part.

What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?

10 Years from now I want to be a Wild Game Officer for the State of Iowa or Working for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.

Favorite food from Central Market

I think the Quesadillas from the Grill are by far the best.

Bucket list

I would like to attend a Big time football game such as Alabama vs Auburn, Ohio State vs Michigan, or Texas vs Oklahoma
