Why Central?

I chose Central because I liked the community feel that I felt when I came on a visit here. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming from the beginning. I also liked the size of the classes, because of the size I am really able to build a relationship with each of my professors.

Favorite professor and why?

Dr. Jen Diers is my favorite professor. Although I do not have a class with her anymore, I thoroughly enjoyed being in her classes my freshman year. I could tell she has a passion for teaching and really cared about her students. She pushed us to try and become that best teachers that we can be. I also enjoyed how personal she was and the positive energy she that you felt in her classroom.

In your iPod?

In my iPod there is a good variety but it is mostly Country music.  I have grown up listening to Country music, and it never fails to put me in a better mood.

I am majoring in Elementary Education and getting endorsements in Special Education, Reading, and coaching because?

I have always love working with kids and always been great at doing it. I had an opportunity in high school to work my spring semester of my senior year in a second grade special education classroom and absolutely loved it! That is what sparked my interest for special education. Another reason I want to work with children with exceptionalities is because my family always holds Christmas parties at a group home that my Aunt Melissa lives in. I enjoy working with all of the residents it really puts a smile on my face!

What’s the story behind your name?

My full name is Adelmo Marchiori IV. I am a fourth generation Adelmo. It is an Italian name that has been passed down from the first Adelmo that came over on the boat from Italy. The first Adelmo had only 18 dollars in his pocket when he came to the states.

Favorite International Soccer Team (besides the United States)

South Africa because the player Siphiwe Tshabalala. He is a forward for South Africa and in high school when we would score a goal my teammates and I would yell his last name.

Favorite celebrity when you were a kid and why?

I can’t really pin point my favorite celebrity when I was young but I remember watching a bunch of John Wayne movies with my father. He was always my hero.

Best advice you ever received from a coach?

My High School basketball coach Allen Cooper told the team and I that things weren’t going to go in the direction we wanted them to until we all “bought in” to the program and stopped trying to do what we thought was right. I always try to “buy in” with anything that I go through in my life now whether it is in a class, college sport, or a job. It is much easier listening to the professionals/bosses than figuring it out on my own.

Which teammate would win The Voice and what song would they sing?

Freshman, Josh Prokupek, and he would sing Beep by The Pussycat Dolls. During our freshman lip sync for soccer he was chosen to sing that song. He knew every word and because he is in choir I am sure he could have sang it for real.

Favorite sport to play besides soccer

Basketball. I played soccer and basketball for my high school all four years and I thoroughly enjoyed playing basketball. Just like soccer, it is a team sport and you really have to pull out all the individual strengths of each player to make a great team.

Who would you rather have on your team, Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo?

Lionel Messi, he is arguably the best player that has played soccer so why not?

Who would you have play you in a movie about your life and why?

Chris Farley, I think he would do a pretty good job. I want the movie about my life to be a comedy and he would fit the part!

Favorite TV Show

The TV show called 24. It is an action filled show starring character Jack Bower. It is a show that always keeps you on the edge of your seat and when the episode is over you cannot wait until next week to watch it again. Each episode is accounted for an hour of Jack Bower’s adventures. At the end of the series it has been a full day in the life of Jack Bower. Hence the show’s name “24”.

The one thing people don’t about Coach Laidlaw

Coach Laidlaw still has his “touch” on the ball, and he probably has better foot skills than most of the teams he has coached.

Why do you love Central soccer?

I love Central soccer because the brotherhood that we have as a team. I can really count on all of my teammates to do something for me if I am ever in need. They also know that I would be there for anyone of them if they needed help as well.

“Ten years from now I’ll...”

I’ll have a job which I enjoy getting up in the morning to go to, a house, a significant other, and many memories to look back on.

Favorite cafeteria food

Pasta. When the cafeteria has the pasta bar my day has been made.

Bucket list

I haven’t ever made a bucket list that I wanted to complete in my life but some things that would be on it would be: rock climbing, white water rafting, catching a trophy bass, and hunting some big game animals.
