Class of 2023
Why did you choose Central?
I chose Central because it had a strong biology department and I had liked the small campus atmosphere here. I also had an opportunity to compete in golf right when I stepped on campus my freshman year.
Favorite professor and why?
My favorite professor has been Dr. Dunne. He was the gen. chem lab professor for me and always made the lab interesting and engaging. When he was my inorganic professor he made that class interesting even though it was pretty difficult at times.
You’re majoring in Biology because?
I’m interested in entering the medical field. I have always been the most interested in science classes, especially biology and chemistry. Biology gives me a broad scope of classes that allow me to experience all aspects of biology and other sciences.
Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?
Aside from golf, I am a part of the National Society of Leadership and Success organization on campus and a part of the Health Professions Club.
Who are your go-to musical artists?
My main artist would be Post Malone, but I do listen to the occasional country or classic rock song.
How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?
Playing a sport at Central has given me so many connections and relationships that will last a long time. I thought I would be close with mainly the golf team, but I’ve become friends with people from different teams. It’s been good to be around other athletes in class as well because we share similar schedules and easier to make connections with.
Early morning tee time or afternoon tee time. Why?
Early morning. I like to get out and play before the course gets busy so I can work on whatever I’m working on at that point on course. It’s also nice to get the round in and still have the rest of the day to work more on my game or relax.
Favorite course you've ever played and the course you desperately want to play
Favorite course I’ve ever played would be TPC Louisiana. The course I really want to go play is Pebble Beach. Pebble Beach is one of the most scenic golf courses in the country and also is a place where the top pros play each year.
Toughest hole at Bos Landen
Number 8 is pretty tough; I have a bad track record playing it in qualifying and tournaments. It can be a difficult shot off the tee with OB right and a hazard left along with a blind shot up to the green. It’s a hole that confuses me more the more I play it.
Teammate who could compete on American Ninja Warrior
Either Wyatt Crosby or Harold Dobernecker. They’re probably two of the more athletic guys on the team, also I think Crosby would be a great personality to have on TV.
Favorite TV Show
The Big Bang Theory
What’s it like to compete for Coach Blasi?
Coach Blasi gives us a lot of freedom in our competitions. He understands that we are solid players with our own competitive processes and allows us to be ourselves, but he’s also not afraid to step in to walk us through a shot and when he disagrees with a club or shot shape we want to play.
What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central golf?
My favorite part of being a member of this team would be my teammates. I’ve made friendships that will last a lifetime with these guys and the guys on the team last year. They make it even more enjoyable and push me in practice every day.
What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?
10 years from now, hopefully, I’ll have a stable job I’m not too sure what that will be right now, and I hope to be a part of golf club to keep playing and enjoying the game.
Favorite food from Central Market
CTO Quesadillas or CTO Burger bar
Bucket list
I’ve always wanted to go to the Bahamas. I’d have to take my clubs with me though, Tiger designed a course there along with some other really nice courses.
