Jake Dzarnowski
Wheaton, Ill.
Class of 2022

Why did you choose Central?

I chose Central because I liked the coaches and their style of play. I also found the actuarial program here to be one that would be able to set me up for a successful future.

Favorite professor and why?

Professor Lemke because he explains things well, keeps class interesting, and I feel we similarly have a dry sense of humor.

You’re majoring in actuarial science because?

I feel the profession makes use of the subjects that I am the most interested in: economics, math, and business.

Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?

I studied abroad in Wales this last spring. Our semester got cut short unfortunately, but it was still easily one of the best experiences of my life.

Who are your go-to musical artists?

I listen to a lot of music across many genres, but a short list of my most played artists from my most played genres would be Highly Suspect, Lil Skies, SAINt JHN, and Dustin Lynch.

How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?

The biggest impact has been the friendships I have made during my time here, and playing soccer here has meant I was able to have an entire family to rely on from my first day on campus. Additionally, the courses I have taken here and taking a semester abroad have helped prepare me for life on my own after graduation.

What animal best represents you and why?

A lion because lions have really nice hair.

If you could master one skill you don’t have right now, what would it be?

According to my roommate, I could use some work on my “broke jumpshot.”

What is the oldest thing you own?

My bike is probably about a decade older than I am, and it used to belong to my grandpa.

Favorite TV Show

Game of Thrones. I have seen every episode several times.

What’s it like to play for Coach Foskett?

It is great playing for Coach Foskett because he can be tough on you in games and practices whilst managing to not come across as too harsh. He’s competitive and challenges his players to perform the best they can in order to help the team win games. He can also be pretty goofy (whether he means to or not).

What’s your favorite part about being a member of the Central men’s soccer team?

I like the way we look after our own and even when we’re not in season, we’re still always spending time with each other.

What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?

Ideally, I will be working as an actuary, have all my actuarial exams passed, and have started a family in a warm, outdoorsy location.

Favorite food from Central Market

The brisket quesadillas are enlightening.

Bucket list

Vacation in Norway, see the northern lights, see a volcano erupt in person (from a safe distance of course), and attend a Roma game in their new stadium (if they ever build it).
