Sophomore
Burlington, Iowa

Why Central?

I am a transfer student, after I had a rough first semester as a student athlete. I chose Central in my transfer process because of the home atmosphere provided by the Pella community and the individual family atmosphere provided by the students.

Favorite professor and why?

My favorite professor would have to be Professor Goodman because he is very relatable and makes learning about statistics (which I am not a fan of) fun and interesting.

In your iPod?

Lots of Outlaw Country, Cash, Willie, Waylon, Hank, and Coe.

You’re majoring in exercise science because?

I am majoring in exercise science because I would like to pursue the career of a physical education teacher once I graduate from Central. I want to be able to give back some of the knowledge that I have learned about athletics and exercise to the young people of society.

Chore you absolutely hate doing?

I absolutely hate sweeping, my dad always made me sweep the shop after I got done working on something before I could give the project a test.

Sporting event you’d love to attend?

I would love to attend the Greco-Roman Olympic Wrestling Tournament.

Favorite professional athlete?

My favorite professional athlete is Stone Cold Steve Austin

Teammate most likely to win a dance contest?

Jaleel Vester, this dude definitely knows how to cut a rug.

Dream job?

My dream job would definitely have to be a college wrestling coach. I would love to spend my days focusing only on wrestling and getting paid for it.

Who is the most famous person you’ve had a conversation with?

When I was going through my transfer process, I was talking to the Iowa Wrestling coaching staff and had a voicemail from Dan Gable. Which when I returned his call turned into a 30 minute conversation. I kept this voicemail on my phone for a long time just to show people if the time ever came.

What was the first CD you ever bought?

The first CD I had ever bought was Big and Rich “Horse of a different color”. With its hit single, “Save a horse”. And my favorite song “Rolling”

Favorite TV Show?

Definitely Nitro Circus

The one thing people don’t about Coach Van Kley?

He wanted to be a park ranger after college and had never really thought about coaching.

Why do you love Central Wrestling?

It’s definitely because of the family atmosphere. The whole team would literally take a bullet for each other. I’ve never felt as much a part of something than what this wrestling team is.

“Ten years from now I’ll...”

Be coaching and teaching at a high school somewhere in Iowa showing the ropes to young kids so that they have the opportunity to do some of the things I have gotten the opportunity to do.

Favorite cafeteria food?

Fresh cookie Tuesday bar none is the best thing to ever happen to C.U.I.F.S.

Bucket list?

1. Skydive

2. Ride a Bull

3. Base-jump from a building

4. Own a car that'll do a ten second quarter mile.

5. Get my friend Dillan Roth to race in the World of Outlaw sprint car series with my good buddy Miles Peck.
