Colin MacGregor
Macomb, Ill
Class of 2023

1. Why did you choose Central?
I chose Central mostly because of basketball, but also because of some connections I had here. I’ve really enjoyed my time here in the four years I’ve spent here.

2. Favorite professor and why?
Professor Tuan Nguyen. He’s the GOAT.

3. You’re majoring in Accounting & Economics because? (fill-in the blank with your major)
I wasn’t planning on a double-major but it just kind of happened. I came in wanting to major in accounting as a freshman but realized I needed 150 credit hours to get CPA certification. That’s when I realized, “You know, maybe I should double major since I need so many credit hours.” I’d recommend both majors to anyone with the slightest interest in accounting or understanding the economy/markets, etc.

4. Besides athletics, what else are you involved in on campus?
I’m vice-president of the EAM club, an InterVarsity Leader, and the Men’s Basketball SAAC Representative. All are extremely awesome groups with great people, so be sure to check them out!!

5. Who are your go-to musical artists?
BIG Frank Sinatra guy. Can’t go wrong with him.

6. How has attending Central and playing a sport impacted your life?
It’s definitely a rewarding experience. From the friendships you make with your teammates to the memories, it was a great decision to play here. Also, it gives you an extra layer of toughness in life, I believe.

7. When will the Chicago Bears when their next Super Bowl?
Optimistically, next year. Realistically, when we get a good defense.

8. Which teammate of yours would make the best U.S. President and why?
Nolan Brand. He doesn’t have DNA, he has USA.

9. If you woke up morning and found yourself to be invisible, what would be the first things you did?
I’m not going to say what I’d do, but there it’s quite possible there would be a Porsche 911 in purple lot.

10. Favorite Disney/Pixar movie?
“WHERE - IS - MY - SUPER SUIT?”

11. Favorite TV Show
I don’t think I can say just one, so here’s a few: Ozark, Game of Thrones, and The Mandalorian

12. What’s it like to play for Coach Steinkamp?
We’re always learning and improving with Steinkamp. After every game we’re focusing on the good and bad and our next steps from there. A great coach and a great guy!

13. What’s your favorite part about being a member of Central basketball?
This is going to sound cliché, but working toward a goal with my brothers, and ultimately winning.

14.  What do you hope to be doing 10 years from now?
Probably working as an accountant/auditor/consultant but ultimately unsure! Just following whatever God has for me!

15. Favorite food from Central Market
CTO Brisket Quesadillas. No competition.

16. Bucket list
Big adrenaline junkie here, so skydiving for sure. I need to go skiing/snowboarding too!
