Why Central?
I was debating between Iowa and Iowa State when I decided that I was going to play tennis. Then I was deciding between Morningside and Central. I liked the engineering program here as well as the campus.
Favorite professor and why?
My favorite professor is Viktor Martisovitz. I have had a class with him every semester since freshman year and his energy and enthusiasm never fails to amaze me. He does a great job of explaining concepts. It is also encouraging to see how much time he spends working in his office after hours.
In your iPod?
I listen to all kinds of music so you will find just about anything.
What are you majoring in and why?
I am majoring in Engineering because I think I would enjoy solving problems in the real world.
Favorite professional sports team
The Kansas City Chiefs followed by the Chicago Bears for football and the Kansas City Royals followed by the Chicago Cubs for baseball.
What was the last gift you gave someone?
Paige’s Valentine’s Day gift.
Teammate who would be most likely to win on “Dancing with the Stars”
After seeing Jimmy Cunningham hop around to the beat as if he were at a rave I think that his skills could carry over to “Dancing with the Stars”. I truly hope this happens because you never really know what Jimmy is capable of.
Your favorite place to eat after a match
I love food too much to pick one place but if I were to pick a top three it would consist of Buffalo Wild Wings, Texas Roadhouse, and Olive Garden.
“I wish I’d known as a freshman that…”
If you don’t know a big word like superfluous, don’t ask any of your teammates what it means because you will be ridiculed the rest of the year and as a result a word of the day will start each practice. That is what happened in my case.
The thing you like best about this year’s team
West Adelman requested I put “Being able to be mentored by the best team captain in the conference,” so I will say that for him. However, I really enjoy how we can all joke around with one another. Overall, it is a unique group of guys and there is never a dull moment.
Favorite sport besides Tennis?
This would have to be wrestling for sure. I’ve had the chance to get on the mat since coming to college and wrestle around with a friend on the wrestling team and I definitely miss it.
The one thing people don’t about Coach Ferrell
He speaks more Spanish than English when he plays tennis at our practices. He very well could be fluent. Also for those of you who don’t know, he is a very talented singer.
Why do you love Central tennis?
I love Central tennis because all the guys know how to be competitive but still know how to always have fun. Also, having a head coach like Coach Ferrell is incredible. He is a great guy who has an abundance of knowledge for the game of tennis. I think he is going to do great things with the Central tennis program in the years to come.

Ten years from now I’ll hopefully have a good job and a nice house that I will be able to enjoy with my family.
Favorite food from Central Market
Favorite food from Central Market is probably Mongolian on Friday’s, but fresh cookie Tuesday is a close second. Honorable mention will have to go to the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy with corn on top.
Bucket list
Before I die I hope to meet Blake Lively. I want to attend a Royals vs. Cubs World Series and a Chiefs vs. Bears Super Bowl if these ever happen. I also hope to travel all over the world throughout my life.
