PELLA — In their first action of 2026, the Central College men's and women's track and field teams combine to win 12 events at the Dutch Athletics Classic Friday.
Central was joined by Grinnell College, Simpson College and William Penn University at Friday's competition. No team scores were kept
Olivia Bohlen (senior, Belle Plaine) won a pair of events, including a season-best time of 9.05 seconds in the women's 60-meter hurdles. She also cleared the high jump at 5 feet, 2.25 inches.
Lance Bunde (sophomore, Guthrie Center, ACGC HS) won his second high jump title of the season after clearing 6-5.5. Teammate
Landon Pote (Ankeny) cleared also successfully jumped 6-5.5 but Bunde did it in fewer attempts.
Freshmen
Brynn Wilson (Huxley, Ballard HS) and
Maddy Stevens (Grimes, Dallas Center-Grimes HS) helped the Dutch women sweep the 1,000 meters and mile. Wilson took the mile in 5:34.39 and Stevens won the 1,000 in 3:02.77 On the men's side,
Jack Every (sophomore, Grimes, Dallas Center-Grimes HS) won the 1,000 in 2:39.01.
Central will compete next Friday at the Prairie Wolf Invitational hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan University and the Cyclone Open hosted by Iowa State University.
