PELLA—The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its postseason academic accolades Monday and Central College was featured prominently.
The Dutch women earned a team grade point average of 3.44, securing the team award for the 11
th consecutive year and 19th time overall. The men topped the 3.100 standard for the fifth time at 3.43.
Eleven Central men and nine Dutch women were recognized for the individual award. To qualify, an athlete must post a minimum 3.30 GPA and qualify for the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship, finish the regular season ranked in the top 50 in an individual event or in the extended top 50 in a relay event.
Previously chosen as an Academic All-American for the third time in her career,
Olivia Bohlen (Belle Plaine) was named the Division III Women's Field Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Six of the Dutch women's selections were repeat honorees and eight men also were tabbed in previous seasons.
Central's women's program has had 68 athletes gain USTFCCCA all-academic honors 132 times. Central's men have had 59 athletes win the award 101 times.
