PELLA—The Central College baseball team was announced as a recipient of the American Baseball Coaches Association's Team Academic Excellence Award presented by Sports Attack for the second year in a row Wednesday.
           
The program recognizes college and high school programs that complete the year with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Coach Adam Carey's team achieved a 3.06 GPA.
           
Central had four players on the American Rivers Conference All-Academic squad, requiring a 3.5 GPA, and two on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District list.
           
On the field, Central finished with a 17-21 overall mark and 8-16 in the American Rivers Conference.
