PELLA—The Central College women's basketball team earned another special mention from the Women's Basketball Coaches Association for its academic achievements.
           
The WBCA recognizes NCAA, NAIA and two-year college teams across the country that carry the highest grade point averages. To receive special mention, a team must carry a combined GPA of 3.0 or higher. Central carried a 3.48 team GPA during 2024-25.
           
Eight Central players received American Rivers academic all-conference distinction, which requires a 3.50 cumulative GPA. Four of those players also earned Academic All-District recognition from the College Sports Communicators.
