Mark Kenney (junior, Fennimore, Wis.) and shortstop
Garrett Guenther (sophomore, Grayslake, Ill., Central HS) from the Central College baseball team were both chosen for the American Rivers All-Conference second team Wednesday afternoon.
Catcher
Dom DeLaPaz (senior, Davenport, West HS) was also honorable mention.
In 24 conference games, Guenther hit .340 with 16 RBI. He scored 16 runs while stealing six stolen bases. Of his 32 hits in league play, nine went for extra bases.
Kenney went 3-2 in his six conference starts. He struck out 25 batters over 38.2 innings as opponents hit .275 against him. He finished conference action with a 3.72 GPA.
DeLaPaz had a team-high six home runs while hitting .287. He drove in 21 runs and scored 18. Behind the plate, he threw out six attempted base stealers and made just one error in 123 chances.
Central finished its season 17-21 overall and 8-16 in league play during coach
Adam Carey's second season. It was the highest win total for the Dutch since 2019.
