IOWA CITY — Getting a chance to wrestle inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena, the Central College women's wrestling team lost dual matches to both the University of Iowa and Cornell College Sunday.
In the opener against the Rams, Central fell 29-19. The top-ranked Hawkeyes beat Central 44-0.
In her 145-pound match against Cornell,
Madilyn Rowson (sophomore, Knoxville, Pleasantville HS) won by fall at 1:58.
Julia Kanne (sophomore, Auburn, Carroll HS) won by a 14-4 technical fall at 131 pounds.
Adalia Del Real (freshman Grain Valley, MO.) added a 14-3 technical fall in her 180-pound match.
Grace Pattison (freshman, Rossville, Ill., BHRA HS) was awarded a forfeit win.
Iowa used four individuals ranked either #1 or #2 in a shutout of Central.
Central competed in front of an announced crowd of 3,225.
The Dutch travel to Forest City for the Waldorf Open on Saturday.
