DES MOINES — In the final tournament before the postseason, the Central College women's wrestling team took on the large brackets of the Grand View Open Satrday.
With gold and silver divisions for all 10 weight classes, the Dutch continued to show promise with ten different wrestlers totaling 14 wins.
Laura Totty (freshman, 180 pounds, American Canyon, Calif.) had finished in fifth place with a 3-2 mark in the Silver 180-pound bracket. She won by decision twice in the early rounds before taking fifth via forfeit.
Alondra Alvarez Chavez (freshman, Northglenn, Colo., Standley Lake HS) won a pair of matches in the Silver 160-pound division as did
Madilyn Rowson (sophomore, Knoxville, Pleasantville HS) at Silver 145,
Campbell Crabb (freshman, Altoona, Southeast Polk HS) at Silver 116 and
Gracie Pattison (freshman, Rossville, Ill., BHRA HS) at Silver 110.
The postseason begins with the NCAA Regional meet on February 21 and 22 at Indianola.
