PELLA— The National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-Americans were released last Wednesday and four Central College men's wrestlers were recognized for their achievements in the classroom and on the mat.
           
To qualify for the award, a wrestler must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. The wrestler also had to place in the top eight at an NCAA Division III Central Regional or win 67 percent of their matches.
           
Seniors Brock Beck (141 pounds, Grinnell) and Gage Linahon (197 pounds, Newton) earned the recognition for the fourth time. Junior Cael Cox (149 pounds, Ankeny) and sophomore Sam West (184 pounds, Burlington, Notre Dame HS) were first-time recipients.
           
Central finished the season 12-4 and tied for fourth in the league standings. As a team, the Dutch finished eighth at the NCAA Division III Lower Midwest Regional and 48th at the NCAA Division III Championships
