PELLA— After completing his decorated career with Central College men's wrestling team with a second All-American finish in March,
Pierre Baldwin was named the program's new assistant coach Tuesday.
A four-year starter for Central at 141 pounds, Baldwin finished third at the 2026 NCAA Division III Championships. He also finished sixth in 2025.
"I'm excited to have Pierre stick with the program as our assistant coach," coach
Landon Williams said. "Pierre has been a key part of what we're building here at Central, he'll help the program continue to rise as our coach. He had a great career as a wrestler and I believe he can make a bigger impact as a coach."
Baldwin earned American Rivers All-Conference accolades all four seasons spent with the Dutch. He was named the team MVP in 2023-24 and 2024-25. His 116 career wins are the third most in program history.
A strength and conditioning major, Baldwin has gained valuable coaching experience working with other Central teams as an intern.
Central finished 10 th at the 2026 NCAA Division III Championships, the program's best finish since 1992. The Dutch have also finished in the top three of the A-R-C in back-to-back season for the first time in 30 years.
