PELLA—A former starter at 285 pounds for the Central College men's wrestling team,
Jaime Miranda is joining the women's program as an assistant coach after coaching at the high school level for the last three years.
Miranda, who is also employed at Central as an Upward Bound Advisor, returns to his alma mater after spending the previous two seasons leading the MOC-Floyd Valley High School girls program. He also was the assistant coach there in 2021-22. His team finished second at the Siouxland Conference tournament in 2024
As a collegiate wrestler for the Dutch, Miranda earned four varsity letters and had a career record of 63-42. He had seven top three tournament finishes in his career.
While serving in the United States Marines Corp in 2019, Miranda earned a spot in the World Team Trials Challenge in the 82-kilogram class of Greco-Roman wrestling.
Both of Central's wrestling programs compete on Saturday, November 2 at the Luther Hill Invitational hosted by Simpson College.
