Central’s Belzer, Totty bag place finishes at BVU women’s wrestling Open

Dutch close out 2025 calendar year with seven wins

STORM LAKE — In its final action of 2025, the Central College women's wrestling team competed at the Buena Vista Open Saturday.

The 10 members of the Dutch women's wrestling program competing combined for seven wins in a tough field.

Esther Belzer (senior, 138 pounds, Kalona, Hillcrest Academy) won a pair of matches to secure a seventh-place finish. Laura Totty (freshman, 180 pounds, American Canyon, Calif.) also made it to the seventh-place match but finished eighth.

Aniya Coleman (junior, 117 pounds, Kansas City, Mo., Park Hill South HS), Trinity Myers (freshman, 124 pounds, North Liberty, Iowa City Liberty HS) and Madilyn Rowson (sophomore, Knoxville, Pleasantville HS) each had big first round wins before dropping their next two bouts.

The Dutch are off for the rest of first semester, returning to action on January 17 at the Cliff Keen-Mike Duroe Invitational hosted by Cornell College.
