PELLA — Serving as host for the 2026 American Rivers Conference Women's Wrestling Championships, Central College finished in fifth place Saturday.
Central tallied 47 points in fifth place as Wartburg College ran away with the title, reaching 173.5 points.
Senior
Esther Belzer (Kalona, Hillcrest Academy) led the Dutch with a fifth-place effort at 138 pounds. She capped a 2-2 day with a 2-0 decision against Lily McMacon of Simpson College. She had a 12-1 technical fall victory earlier in consolation rounds against Grace Patterson of Loras College.
Julia Kanne (sophomore, 131 pounds Auburn, Carroll HS) had a 10-0 technical fall victory against Luther College's Lexi Timmerman in her first round bout. She finished in sixth place.
Sophomore
Madilyn Rowson (145 pounds, Knoxville, Pleasantville HS) ended her day strong with a 13-0 technical fall over Lydia Virtue of the University of Dubuque in the seventh-place match.
Alondra Alvarez Chavez (freshman, 160 pounds, Northglenn, Colo., Standley Lake HS) also had a 15-2 technical fall against Dubuque's Brianna Seixas in a consolation match, en route to an eighth-place finish.
Central travels to Dubuque for the Loras Open next Saturday at 9 a.m.
