PELLA— For the second time this season, Central College men's high jumper Sam Beatty (Mount Pleasant) was named the American Rivers Conference's Men's Field Event Performer of the Week.
           
Beatty cleared the bar at 6 feet, 9.75 inches to win the Central-Simpson dual on Saturday. His jump is the best in the American Rivers Conference and the second best in Division III this season. Beatty previously earned this award from the conference on April 4, 2022 and last season on May 3, 2021.
           
Beatty has qualified for the University Division/College Division men's high jump at the Drake Relays on Friday night at 6 p.m.
